Tanel Teemusk. Software developer and tech lead.
I ship iOS apps, and now macOS apps too. I build products end to end, with AI in the loop the whole way, and I have led the teams that do it. Twelve apps in production across fintech, logistics, media and travel, most of them taken from nothing to the App Store. I’m based in Tallinn and work with companies across Europe, remote or on-site.

01 · How I work
AI is in everything I build. This is what keeps it honest.
Using AI to write software is easy. Keeping the result reviewable, and keeping yourself honest about what it got wrong, is the part that takes structure. Mine looks like this.
A written standards corpus
Rules for how code gets written and reviewed: 125 files, 7,213 lines, with an explicit precedence chain so that when two rules disagree there is a defined winner instead of an argument. It gets audited for drift.
A knowledge base that cites its sources
776 files, each claim tied back to the code or document it came from, with confidence markers and lint rules. A page that cannot ground a claim says so instead of guessing.
A decisions ledger a human signs
Telemetry runs a coaching loop over my own prompts and suggests changes. Nothing from that loop lands without being read first.
Production without staging
Most client work I run has no staging environment. That means a backup first, the rollback command written down before the change, off-peak, and a verified fetch after. Unglamorous, and the reason nothing has gone missing.
02 · My story
How I got here
I started on the web in 2000, building animation and interactive work in Flash (Macromedia back then, later Adobe) for ad agencies in New York and around Europe. When the iPhone showed up I moved to mobile, and I have been building and shipping iOS apps since 2010, first as a developer and later leading teams.
I’ve always moved early on new tech, and AI is the one that genuinely changed how I work day to day. I went from iOS specialist to building full-stack with AI in the loop the whole time.
Right now I lead AI integration at Invendor, getting AI into the product and into how the team builds, while I ship their iOS apps. On my own time I write, and I build macOS apps and MCP servers. The throughline has not changed since the Flash days: take a fuzzy idea and turn it into something that ships.

Experience
Swift · SwiftUI · LLMs · MCP · AI-assisted development
- Leading Invendor’s move to an AI-first company, getting AI into both the product and the way the team builds.
- Building and shipping the iOS apps for Invendor’s smart vending and inventory platform: weight-sensing cabinets, scanning, cloud sync, and ERP/WMS integrations.
- Driving AI-assisted development across the engineering team so we ship faster without dropping quality.
- Prototyping LLM-backed features and internal tools, then taking them all the way to production.
Swift · JavaScript · PHP
- My own company, Massruum (opens in new tab), for independent development work.
Swift · Objective-C · JavaScript
- Lead mobile engineer for startups and enterprises across fintech, logistics and media, taking iOS apps from scratch to the App Store.
- Built Timbeter (algorithm-driven timber measurement, shipped in six months) and led a team of ten on the hi.com all-in-one crypto app; also shipped Sixfold, Lokimo, Vimvest, and RMK Kuuseke, plus a short stint at Porsche Digital Lab on a confidential innovation project.
Swift · Objective-C
- Built and maintained consumer fintech iOS apps for the bank’s lending and payments products.
Sketch · Adobe Suite · user testing
- Designed and tested the user experience for marine navigation products used by boaters worldwide.
Macromedia / Adobe Flash · ActionScript · motion design
- Built rich animation and interactive content for ad agencies in New York and across Europe.
- Worked with Tribal DDB New York, Grey Healthcare New York, and many others.
