What it does
The knobs live in the project, not on the table
Open an old AUM project and you don’t know what your hardware knobs do. Start a new one before the controller is on the table. KnobBridge is a small board of named knobs and buttons that lives in the project.
Load KnobBridge in AUM as a MIDI processor and add knobs. Name them, turn them on screen and MIDI-learn your synth’s parameters from them. Later, open a knob’s sheet, tap Learn and turn the hardware knob. From then on the hardware drives it, the screen follows, and the synth gets the shaped value instead of the raw one.
KnobBridge sends the same MIDI a hardware controller would, so any app with MIDI learn can follow it.
Set it up in AUM
From empty board to bound knob in four steps
1
Add KnobBridge
In AUM, add KnobBridge as a MIDI processor on any lane and open its window.
2
Route it
In AUM’s MIDI matrix, route KnobBridge’s output to your synths. Route your controller into KnobBridge too, for when you bind it.
3
Add knobs and learn
Add knobs from the ⋯ menu and name them. Put the synth’s MIDI learn on a parameter and turn the knob on screen.
4
Bind the hardware later
Open the knob’s sheet, tap Learn and turn the hardware knob. Now it drives the knob on screen.
Nothing is sent when a project opens. Tap ⋯ › Send all values when you want the synths to catch up. Opening the KnobBridge app itself shows the same steps.
Features
Every knob named, every value shaped
A board you arrange
Knobs and buttons, named, on a grid you arrange like home-screen icons.
Several CCs, own curves
Each control sends one or several CCs, each through its own drawn curve.
Momentary or toggle
Buttons are momentary or toggle, driven by a pad, a key or a tap.
Learn
Learn binds any hardware knob or pad; everything unbound passes through untouched.
Saved with the project
Knob positions are saved with the project, and nothing is sent until you ask.
Notes and a list view
A note line per control and a list view: what every knob does, for the whole project.
Easy to work with
Undo, VoiceOver, hardware keyboard.
€7.99, paid once. No in-app purchases, no account.

Common questions
Can I use my iPad as a MIDI controller in AUM?
Yes. KnobBridge puts a board of named knobs and buttons inside your AUM project. Turn them on screen and each one sends the MIDI CCs you chose to any synth or effect in AUM. You can bind them to a hardware controller later.
My synth doesn’t react to a knob
Check AUM’s MIDI matrix: KnobBridge’s output has to go to the synth. Then put the synth’s MIDI learn on the parameter and turn the knob on screen.
The synth gets the raw value, not the curve
Your controller is probably routed straight to the synth as well. Route it only into KnobBridge. A bound control’s raw message stops there, so the synth gets only the shaped value.
Nothing happens when I open a project
That is on purpose, so opening a project never jumps your synths. Tap ⋯ › Send all values to send every saved knob and button position.

Privacy policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy covers the KnobBridge app and its Audio Unit plugin. KnobBridge is made and published by Tanel Teemusk. In short: the app collects no data.
What the app collects
Nothing. KnobBridge has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it makes no network connections. Nothing about you or the way you use it is sent to me or to anyone else.
Your boards
Your boards, with their names, notes, bindings and knob positions, are saved in your AUM project and in the host’s presets on your device. They leave it only if you share the project or preset yourself.
Children
Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.

KnobBridge is made by Tanel Teemusk. Also by me: ClockBridge, which makes AUM follow your hardware’s MIDI clock, and NoteBridge, which remaps MIDI notes and channels.
