What it does
Your chord, played back as a pattern
Hold a chord and ArpBridge plays it back as a pattern. The note order picks which held note comes next, and the steps you draw decide when it plays, how loud and for how long.
Each step is a column of lights. Its height is the velocity and its width is the note length. Drag a column past its step and the note ties into the next one. Switch a step off for a rest, or mark it as a chord and it plays every held note at once.
ArpBridge makes no sound itself. It’s a small app that does one thing: MIDI in, an arpeggio out.
Set it up
On its own or in AUM
1
Load it
In AUM, add ArpBridge as a MIDI processor in front of an instrument. Or open the app on its own.
2
Route your keys
Send your MIDI keyboard into ArpBridge and its output to the synth. On its own, pick ArpBridge as the MIDI input in your synth app.
3
Hold a chord
It plays straight away, in time with the host, or with your hardware’s MIDI clock.
4
Draw the steps
Set each step’s velocity and length, add rests, ties and chords, or roll the dice.
No keyboard to hand? Play the one on screen. The arp keeps running in the background, so a synth in another app still hears it.
Features
Every step drawn, every note placed
Note orders
Up, Down, Up/Down, Outside-in, Random and As Played, each with four variations.
Range and rate
One to four octaves or chord inversions; rates from whole notes to 1/32, dotted and triplet.
Latch modes
Reset, Transpose, Gated Transpose, Add, Add Temporarily and Through.
Live mode
Play a chord and drop in rests, ties and chords as you go.
Up to 128 steps
The step row and the note cycle have their own lengths, so the rhythm keeps its shape.
Feel
Swing, note length, random length, velocity range, crescendo or random velocity.
Dice
Rolls a random step pattern, note order and variation. One undo takes it back.
Patterns to share
25 built-in step patterns and six built-in arps. Save your own and share them as .arp files.
Everything that isn’t a note passes through: CC, pitch bend, pressure.

Common questions
Does ArpBridge make sound?
No. It sends MIDI notes. Put a synth after it, in AUM or in another app.
Does it follow my tempo?
Yes. In a host it follows the tempo and bar, and keeps going at the host’s tempo while the transport is stopped. On its own it follows MIDI clock from your hardware, with start, stop and song position, or plays on its own tempo.
Can I use my patterns in Helin?
Yes. Patterns are .arp files, and Helin’s built-in Arp opens them, and the other way round.

Privacy policy
Last updated 6 November 2026
This policy covers the ArpBridge app and its Audio Unit plugin. ArpBridge is made and published by Tanel Teemusk. In short: the app collects no data.
What the app collects
Nothing. ArpBridge has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it makes no network connections. Nothing about you or the way you use it is sent to me or to anyone else.
Your settings
Your patterns and settings are saved on your device and in your host’s session and presets. They leave it only if you share them yourself.
Children
Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
